11/6/12  Voting Day ~ In addition to individual voting, I am expanding my field of focus that everything is energy and the power of intention. I am praying for the victory that serves the Highest Good for All Concerned.

"A Hunting We Will Go" ~ This morning Betty & I are off with the wheelbarrow to go Donkey Poop Hunting in the field across the street.  We need manure for today's project of building a biodynamic compost pile.  While we were scooping poop, the neighbor's donkey came to check us out.

To quote Betty, "We are Poop Rich!"

  Building the compost pile
vigorous stirring clockwise and then counterclockwise
creating a spin of balance through order and chaos

Later in the afternoon, Betty & I planted Vitex (a plant that has flowers similar to lilac - attracts bees, hummingbirds, butterflies and other lovely little creatures. Vitex is more drought tolerant than lilac
and therefore a better choice in this area.

It's early evening.  Betty & I are dining at the home of Marilyn and Bill Mitchell. Because of my deep connection with prayer and my passion for the power of storytelling,  I am about to share an amazing miracle family story.  Thank you Mitchell, Marilyn and Bill for granting me permission.

The Miracle Story of Mitchell Hammons
Do you believe in the power of Prayer and Divine Synchronicity?

Marilyn's son Mitchell is 46 years old.  On August 8th, Mitchell was walking home from visiting a friend on Symmes St. in Norman, Oklahoma.  Railroad tracks cross through the center of town on his way home. He didn't hear the train coming - he was listening to music with ear buds.  Feeling the vibration, he tried to get out of harms way, but tripped and was hit by the train.  I understand that this is the fourth occasion that trains have hit people in Norman.  Mitchell is the only survivor.  He is a miracle! At the trauma center he received 4 quarts of blood and underwent an above knee amputation on both legs.  He had 9 surgeries in 19 days.  Every day since, he's experienced greater and greater healing.  Mitchell says, "I'm just me with shorter legs. "  Also adding, "I'm not who I was, everything is different now."

Only 3 months after the accident, Mitchell has healed  to the extent where he is now ready for prosthetic legs.  Typically, healing from such an accident takes 9 months to a year. From the get go, Mitchell's mom, Marilyn, kept herself, family, and friends focused upon the miracle of her son being alive and the power of prayer.

It turns out that Mitchell's insurance would pay 80% of the cost of getting prosthetics and the other 20% ($9,000) he would have to come up with for a cheap prosthetics.  Upon hearing this, Mitchell asked his mom, "what are we going to do?"  His mom replied "We're going to do what we always do - pray.  Mom prayed to God, "send me someone who can help my son get legs."  The next morning at 10:00 am,  Marilyn decided to go to the Ross Department Store to return an item she had purchased a month before.

As Marilyn was waiting in the cashier line at Ross', the clerk spotted her and asked how Mitchell was doing.  Marilyn explained to her that the latest roadblock was that Mitchell needed to come up with 20% up front for prosthetics or he wouldn't be able to get legs. Marilyn ended that statement with, "I guess only rich people in the country get legs."  Overhearing Marilyn's comment,  another woman in line, also by the name of Marilyn as it turns out, says, "that's not true!" to which Mitchell's mom replies, "really! why not?  The other Marilyn explains, "my son works for Scott Sabolich (the top rated artificial leg company in the US and perhaps the world).  I'm going to call him right now and were going to get your son some legs."  Phone numbers were exchanged, and in no time at all a date is scheduled for Mitchell to go to Scott Sabolish to discover that the company is writing off any amount that the insurance company doesn't cover for whatever Mitchell needs.  Beginning next week, Mitchell will begin the process of getting top line legs!

Mitchell's mom points out (as do i) what are the odds of two mothers named Marilyn meeting in a Ross store.  One mother whose son makes artificial legs and the other needing artificial legs.
"The odds are 100% when you believe in prayer."  says friend Betty.

Mitchell's mom, Marilyn doesn't know why she decided to go to Ross' the day and time that she did and the other Marilyn doesn't know why she went either because she was scheduled to be somewhere else at that time.  Both mothers agree that they felt it was destiny that brought them together at Ross' to be standing in the same cashier line at the same time.

To add to this miracle story: Sally, Mitchell's friend, who he was visiting the night before the accident, says that when she heard what happened and went to the hospital to visit Mitchell, God spoke to her saying, "this is the man you are suppose to be with."  Sally got down on her knees in the hospital room and asked Mitchell to marry him."
Sally adds, "I could care less about his legs.  He is so much more than his legs!"

Mitchell's attitude is optimistic and he's ready to go on.
He knows he has a purpose and says,
"this is where I pick up speed!"

Note: Mitchell's mom adds - Motivational Speaker, Chris Chenowith came to Unity Church to speak about how to pray.  He quoted that 95% of the people don't pray correctly.  He clarified that we need to pray as if it's already happened, not going to happen.  Marilyn had no doubt that someone would come forth to help.

I invite you Blog Readers
to join me in envisioning Mitchell's prosthetic procedure and rehab
being smooth, steady, and victorious!

To top off the day... i have just heard the voting results and breathing thanks. Blessed Be the Peacemakers!
