10/22/12 - More Memphis Sightseeing:

Sun Studio - "Birthplace of Rock N' Roll" - where Elvis recorded his first song.  When 18 years old, Elvis walked into the legendary Sun Studio for the first time. He was asked who he sounded like and he said.... "I don't sound like nobody."

Beginning in 1950, this small Studio in Memphis recorded the beginning of the musical careers of  Elvis, BB King, Johnny Cash, Jerry Leee Lewis, Carl Perkins, the Howlin' Wolf, Royy Orbison, Charlie Rich and many other legends.  In recent years, U2, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Ringo Starr, Matchbox 20, Maroon 5, Beck and more....

Strolled down Beale Street.

Three blocks of nightclubs, restaurants and retail shops.
The Beale Street entertainment district - a melting pot
of delta blues, jazz, rock 'n' roll, R&B and gospel.

The Roots of Soul - would love to have gotten to Stax Museum of American Soul Music.
but didn't get there.
